We are looking for candidates for
the Junior Postdoctoral Fellowship Juan de la Cierva. Details of the fellowship

Competitividad (MINECO) website.
For the candidates that already hold a PhD
degree, the award date must be later than September 1, 2008. The call is also
open to candidates that expect to have the PhD degree awarded by the
publication of the resolution of the call. The ideal candidate must possess a
degree in Mechanical Engineering / Civil Engineering / Naval Engineering /
Aeronautical Engineering, with an excellent academic record, as well as a
doctorate in topics related to their higher degree.
If the application is successful, the candidate
will join the research group in fluid-structure interaction (LIFE) Department
of Mechanical Engineering of the Universitat Rovira i Virgili (http://www.etseq.urv.es/life/) for 3 years. The group is led by Francisco
Huera-Huarte and the project will focus on the study of the fluid-structure
interaction phenomena in floating offshore structures, especially those
designed to accommodate large wind turbines in deep water. Both experimental
and numerical techniques will be used, but it is a must that the candidate has experience
at PhD level in the use of particle image velocimetry (PIV), measurement and data
acquisition systems, Matlab, LabVIEW, etc ...
